What brings people in is different every time. What they have in common is a genuine readiness to change. Clients come because they truly want to work through their issues, learn more about themselves, and in the process, change and improve their lives.
There is no single type of person who comes to hypnotherapy. People from all walks of life walk through the door, each carrying something different.
People come for anxiety that has been building quietly for years, for trauma they are ready to work through, for depression that has settled in, for grief they haven’t known how to carry, for confidence they feel they’ve lost, to improve their performance at work, in sport or on stage, or simply because they are ready for a change and have decided this is the year to make it.
Some arrive without being able to name what's wrong at all — just a sense of feeling lost, off, or not feeling themselves, without knowing why. It's common for the very first field on the intake form — "Issue / Concern / Problem" — to be left blank, simply because the problem hasn't yet been defined in words. It is exciting to see clients progress from this base point to making their own discoveries, becoming more self-aware of their own resources and abilities, and working together to shape individualised, workable tools they can genuinely use. The aim is to help each client discover what works for them, learning to use their own mind as an ally rather than something working against them.
